Hot PC

One of the most common problems that people come to me with is computers that just shut down and restart at odd moments. Now, there are a number of possible explanations for this, ranging from a PSU that is on the edge of a breakdown, a corrupt file-system, or an overheating board or CPU.

One came in the other day and after a bit of investigation I found the source of its over-heating problem.

It has [not] been a fun week for me on the tech side, caught a bit of a bug across all my computers - fun, fun, fun.

It started out when I noticed that my USB thumb drive would not eject when told, which always indicates something is still accessing it - obviously nothing was running. I am usually quite good at keeping everything up to date as far as adware and virus threat signatures go, so I updated my AV scanner and let it do its thing.

The calm after the storm

Yesterday was a nightmare, I was pulling my hair out due to the inability of PHP and MySQL to communicate. After a sound nights sleep it took me nearly 30 minutes to achieve what I spent all day doing yesterday.

It seems that wamp stores a php.ini in its /apache2/ folder, even though I was editing the one that resides in /windows/system/ , obviously with no effect at all. Mai bpen rai (never mind) as the thai's would say. I will mayby do a tutorial.post on it one of these days.

One of those days!

So much for the 'daily blog', lol, anyone that knows me possibly suspected that there would be less of a daily activity here.

Lately it has been so hectic trying to get things finished off and ready for public consumption, nearly there though. All that is left on Solve is a couple of niggly design issues, bit too much whitespace in some areas.
